Two Birmingham Residents Among Eight Charged in 2024 Missing Man Murder Case

Two individuals from Birmingham are part of a group of eight people charged in relation to the murder of a man who disappeared nearly two years ago. The charges stem from the disappearance of Gary Piatek, a 60-year-old man last seen in April 2024, as reported by Leicestershire Live.

Police Operation and Searches

An extensive police operation saw warrants executed at addresses in Evington, Leicester, on Tuesday morning, February 10, with searches continuing at a property on Broad Avenue in the following days. Additional raids were conducted at an address in Dorset and another in Birmingham as part of the investigation.

Leicestershire Police have indicated that the operation at the Broad Avenue house will persist for several weeks, involving specialist teams equipped with advanced search tools to locate Mr Piatek.

Charges and Court Appearances

Yosif Ibrahim, 43, of Broad Avenue, Leicester, and Omed Firuzman, 25, of Ashley Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, are charged with the murder of Mr Piatek. Two women, Dalya Rabati, 29, of Frazer Nash Close, Isleworth, London, and Dilan Rabati, 34, of Broad Avenue, Leicester, face charges under the Proceeds of Crime Act, with Dalya Rabati also accused of fraud.

Ahmed Nabla, 34, also of Broad Avenue, Leicester, is similarly charged under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Diar Muhammedy, 34, of Falmouth Road, Leicester, and Mabast Khalid, 21, of Manway Close, Birmingham, are charged with assisting an offender. Nazem Kakamando, 50, from Gordon Road, Birmingham, faces charges of fraud by false representation and offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

All eight defendants were scheduled to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Friday, February 10. Meanwhile, a 61-year-old man from Leicester, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on police bail as investigations continue.
