West Midlands Police have cordoned off a heavily overgrown stream on Geranium Grove in Bordesley Green as part of the ongoing investigation into a street shooting that left a 16-year-old boy critically injured. The teenager was shot at the junction of Bowyer Road and St Saviours Road in Alum Rock at 5.30pm on Wednesday, 1 July.
Teenager Charged with Attempted Murder
A 17-year-old male has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was listed to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday, 3 July. The victim remains in critical condition following the attack.
Police Searches in Bordesley Green
Officers are conducting searches in the Geranium Grove area, focusing on a stream and heavy undergrowth. Detective Inspector Francis Nock from the Major Crime Team said: “Our investigation is continuing and I would urge anyone who might have seen something or has dashcam or doorbell footage to get in touch. Officers will remain in the area today to offer reassurance to the local community.”
