Bullets, drugs and 100 knives seized in Birmingham raids

West Midlands Police recovered Class A drugs, ammunition, and almost 100 zombie-style knives during early-morning raids at two Birmingham properties, leading to the arrest of a 20-year-old man on suspicion of drug offences.

Officers executed warrants at properties in Adderley Gardens and The Hurstway on Thursday, August 20. At the Adderley Gardens address, they uncovered Class A drugs. Further searches at The Hurstway property revealed ammunition and almost 100 zombie-style knives, along with additional drugs including crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.

Insp Mark Robinson, of West Midlands Police, said: "We recovered a huge haul of weapons following our early-morning warrants, along with thousands of pounds worth of drugs. These weapons are deadly and it's a reminder that every knife taken off the streets is a potential life saved. This is all part of our ongoing work to disrupt drugs lines and protect vulnerable people across our region."

Suspect in custody for questioning

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug offences and was also being quizzed over the sale of zombie and Rambo-style knives. A force spokesperson confirmed: "Our County Lines Taskforce carried out warrants at three addresses in Birmingham this morning, where a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the sale of zombie knives, Rambo-style knives and drugs."

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis and selling offensive weapons. He was also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class-A drugs with intent to supply. The suspect remained in custody for questioning on August 20.

His arrest came following an investigation into the sale of drugs and weapons including zombie and Rambo-style knives. A force spokesperson added: "Our County Lines Taskforce is committed to disrupting the supply of drugs in the West Midlands and is relentlessly targeting those suspected of involvement in it."
