Four Arrests Near Soho Road: Drugs and Weapon Seized

Four people were arrested within 24 hours during an ongoing police operation near Birmingham's Soho Road, with drugs and a weapon seized, West Midlands Police confirmed.

Charges and Arrests

A 24-year-old man has been charged after a weapon was recovered in the area on July 6. Operation Fearless officers later arrested a 56-year-old man near Grove Lane on suspicion of failing to appear in court.

In the early hours of July 7, a 34-year-old woman was arrested for breaching a community order, and a 30-year-old man was detained for recall to prison.

Police Statement

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Four people have been arrested and drugs and a weapon have been seized, as Operation Fearless continues to act on the community's priorities in Handsworth."

"Fearless officers, currently deployed to the Soho Road and Handsworth Triangle area, were on patrol yesterday when they had reason to stop and search a man. A concealed offensive weapon was recovered, and a man, aged 24, was arrested and has since been charged."

Additional Actions

Officers also spotted someone acting suspiciously near Grove Lane, leading to the arrest of a 56-year-old man for failing to appear at court. Patrols continued into the early hours, resulting in the arrest of a 34-year-old woman for breaching a community order and a 30-year-old man for recall to prison.

The team seized more drugs following patrols on Soho Road, while two people were dealt with for breaching the Public Space Protection Order, aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour.

"Op Fearless officers will continue to listen and act on community concerns as they aim to crack down on crime and help improve the area," the spokesperson added.
