Emergency services were called to Pottery Road in Oldbury on Sunday evening after a man was sprayed with an unknown substance. The victim, in his 20s, was taken to hospital following the incident, which occurred near Abbey Crescent at around 8.30pm on September 27.
Large Emergency Response
Police, firefighters, and medics all attended the scene. Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were dispatched by West Midlands Ambulance Service. The response came after reports of a man being sprayed by someone in a vehicle, which then drove away.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We're investigating after a man was sprayed with an unknown substance in Oldbury last night. It happened on Pottery Road at around 8.30pm yesterday. He was sprayed by someone in a vehicle, which was then driven away from the scene. The victim, in his 20s, was taken to hospital as a precaution."
Two Men Treated at Scene
Upon arrival, ambulance crews discovered two patients, both men. The first man was treated for potentially serious injuries and taken to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. The second man was assessed and discharged at the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called to an incident at the junction of Pottery Road and Abbey Crescent at 8.29pm last night. Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. On arrival we discovered two patients, both men. The first man was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. The second man was assessed and discharged at the scene."
