Police are hunting a gang of shoplifters who assaulted a security guard before fleeing with stolen alcohol from a village supermarket near Solihull.
CCTV Appeal Launched After Violent Incident
West Midlands Police have issued a public appeal for information, releasing CCTV images of four males they urgently wish to identify. The incident occurred at a supermarket on Station Road in Dorridge.
The force confirmed that the group entered the store at around 3.50pm on Saturday, January 3. After stealing a quantity of alcohol, they then assaulted a member of the security staff before running away from the scene.
Investigation Hits a Wall
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated that initial CCTV enquiries had been carried out but had so far failed to identify those responsible. This has led detectives to turn to the public for assistance.
The spokesperson said: "We're appealing for help after a group entered a supermarket on Station Road, Dorridge. A group of people stole alcohol from the store before assaulting security and running away."
