Three Tamworth Men Face Drug Charges After Major Police Investigations

Three men from Tamworth have been charged with a series of drug-dealing offences following two separate investigations conducted by Staffordshire Police's major and organized crime teams. The charges stem from coordinated police actions targeting serious criminal activities in the area.

First Investigation Leads to Multiple Charges

In the first investigation, two men were charged after police discovered approximately two-and-a-half kilograms of cocaine and cannabis during warrants executed in Tamworth on Friday, February 6. The warrants were carried out by Staffordshire Police's specialized crime units as part of their ongoing efforts to combat organized criminal networks.

Zak Oliver Clark, aged 31 and residing on Elizabeth Drive in Leyfields, faces numerous charges including supplying cocaine and cannabis, possession of both substances with intent to supply, and producing cannabis. Additional charges against Clark include acquiring, using, or possessing criminal property, perverting the course of justice, four counts of driving while disqualified, four counts of driving without insurance, and abstracting electricity.

Carl Philip Pearson, aged 34 and living on Moor Street near Tamworth town centre, has been charged with supplying cocaine and cannabis along with possession of both drugs with intent to supply. Both Clark and Pearson appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Saturday, February 7, where they were remanded in custody. They are scheduled to appear at Stafford Crown Court on Friday, March 13.

Second Investigation Results in Additional Charges

In a separate investigation, another Tamworth man has been charged following police searches of two homes in the early hours of Tuesday, February 10. Officers from the major and organized crime proactive team conducted these searches as part of their continued crackdown on drug-related offences.

Donny Hart, aged 52 and residing on Tarrant in the Belgrave area of Tamworth, faces charges including supplying crack cocaine and heroin, possession of both substances, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, one count of driving while disqualified, and one count of driving without third-party insurance. Hart appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Wednesday, February 11, where he was also remanded in custody. He is set to appear at Stafford Crown Court on Friday, March 13.

Police Commitment to Combating Organized Crime

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson emphasized the force's dedication to investigating serious and organized crime across the county. The police launched Operation Target in May 2023, focusing on identifying, disrupting, and pursuing criminals involved in planning and committing serious offences such as drug supply, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation.

The spokesperson reported that last year, Staffordshire Police arrested 354 people and secured charges against 121 individuals as part of these efforts. The police encourage community members to report any concerns about drug dealing by calling 101, using Live Chat on their website, or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.

These cases highlight the ongoing work by law enforcement to address drug-related crimes and organized criminal activities in the Tamworth area, demonstrating a proactive approach to maintaining community safety and security.
