Police in Warwickshire have launched an investigation after a woman in her 20s reported being raped in an early morning attack on a Nuneaton high street. The incident occurred on Queens Road between 3am and 3.30am on Sunday, July 5.
Arrest Made and Police Appeal
A 27-year-old man from Oxfordshire has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody for questioning as of Monday, July 6. A cordon was placed around a small section of the high street following the incident.
In an appeal, Warwickshire Police said: "We've arrested a man and are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 20s reported being raped in Nuneaton. It happened on Queens Road between 3am and 3.30am on Sunday (5 July)."
Victim Support and Ongoing Investigation
The woman is currently being supported by specially-trained officers. Police will maintain a presence in the Queens Road area over the coming days as the investigation continues.
