Birmingham Beach, the free family attraction that opened on Digbeth High Street for the summer holidays, has closed earlier than planned. Organisers Danter Attractions announced the closure on Sunday, August 2, citing 'unforeseen circumstances' and expressing 'great sadness' at the decision.
The beach had been due to run every day until Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, but shut its gates after just over two weeks of operation. The attraction, which first opened on Saturday, July 18, offered a large sandy beach lined with deckchairs and beach huts, alongside fairground rides and food stalls, creating a seaside atmosphere in the heart of Birmingham.

In a Facebook post, Danter Attractions said: "It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Birmingham Beach will be closing for the summer on the 2nd August." The statement continued: "We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported us, and made so many amazing memories with family and friends. Your support has meant the world to us."
The post explained: "Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to make the difficult decision to close earlier than planned.
