iCarly Movie Confirmed: Release Date, Cast, Plot Spoilers & News
iCarly Movie: Release Date, Cast & Plot Details

Fans of the hit Paramount+ revival can finally celebrate: an iCarly movie is officially in the works. Star and executive producer Miranda Cosgrove has confirmed the project, which aims to wrap up the major cliffhangers left by the show's abrupt cancellation after its third season.

What We Know About The iCarly Movie Plot & Release

The iCarly revival's final episode left viewers on a dramatic double cliffhanger. Firstly, Carly Shay and Freddie Benson were contemplating marriage after Marissa and Lewbert unexpectedly eloped. Secondly, and more shockingly, Carly and Spencer's long-estranged mother arrived off-screen, with the season ending on Carly's single-word question: "Mom?".

Cosgrove has stated the film will directly address these unresolved threads. "We actually ended the revival on a cliffhanger, and we’re going to wrap that up," she revealed during an appearance on The Talk. This strongly suggests audiences will finally meet the mysterious mother and could witness the long-awaited "Creddie" wedding between Carly and Freddie.

As for a release date, nothing is yet set in stone. Cosgrove told Entertainment Weekly the script "is being written" and that "it looks like it's happening." With filming not yet begun, industry speculation points to a 2026 release at the earliest.

Confirmed & Potential Cast Members

The core cast from the reboot series is expected to return for the film. This likely includes:

  • Miranda Cosgrove as Carly Shay
  • Jerry Trainor as Spencer Shay
  • Nathan Kress as Freddie Benson
  • Laci Mosley as Harper Bettencourt
  • Jaidyn Triplett as Millicent Mitchell

Cosgrove has also confirmed that the actors playing Carly and Spencer's mother will be a "big part of the movie," though the role has not yet been cast. She additionally teased the return of "old favourites", potentially hinting at cameos from original series characters.

However, one notable absence is expected. Due to Jennette McCurdy's retirement from acting and her candid reflections on her time as Sam Puckett in her memoir, I'm Glad My Mom Died, her participation in the film is considered highly unlikely.

Title, Trailers, and Future Updates

An official title for the film remains under wraps. The original series produced two TV movies: iGo to Japan and iParty with Victorious. The new project could follow a similar naming convention or opt for something simpler like The iCarly Movie.

With the project still in the scripting phase, no trailer has been produced. Fans are advised to watch for official announcements from Paramount+ for the first glimpse of footage and a confirmed release window.

The confirmation of the movie serves as a direct response to fan outcry following the revival's cancellation. It promises to deliver the satisfying conclusion that the dedicated iCarly fanbase has been eagerly awaiting.
