Stars Reunite to Quash Rumours
Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour have publicly reunited at the world premiere of Stranger Things 5, presenting a united front against recent speculation about their relationship. The co-stars, who play father and daughter on the hit Netflix series, were all smiles on the red carpet in Los Angeles, laughing and posing together for photographs.
Their appearance comes just a week after an unconfirmed tabloid report claimed an unnamed source alleged Millie had filed a 'harassment and bullying claim' against David before filming began for the show's fifth and final season. Neither actor had previously commented on the viral story.
A Bond Forged On Screen
In interviews with press outlets including Entertainment Tonight, Millie Bobby Brown spoke openly about her profound connection with her on-screen dad. "I obviously have a really special bond with David because we have a father/daughter relationship and we do every scene together and you really get to see that in season 5," she revealed.
She elaborated on the significance of their long-standing working relationship, stating, "It's been so special to have him along the journey for me." Brown also took care to acknowledge her other co-stars, including Winona Ryder, emphasising the family-like atmosphere among the cast.
Production Leadership Addresses Set Environment
When questioned about the unverified reports, the show's leadership was quick to highlight the importance of a positive working environment. Co-creator Ross Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter, "Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them."
He added a crucial point about their priorities: "So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy."
Director and executive producer Shawn Levy also weighed in on the matter of on-set conduct. "At the end of the day, that’s the job," he stated. "You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so."
Levy directly addressed the circulating stories, noting, "I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to… there’s so much noise around it. But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect, and that’s always been bedrock."
The final season of Stranger Things is set to debut its first four episodes, labelled Volume 1, on November 26th, 2025. This will be followed by another three episodes (Volume 2) on Christmas Day, December 25th. The series will conclude with a massive finale episode released on New Year's Eve, December 31st, 2025.
