Mikey Graham's Life Now: Why He Skipped Boyzone's Documentary Reunion
Boyzone's Mikey Graham: Absent from reunion, family life now

Former Boyzone member Mikey Graham has chosen a path of quiet separation from his pop past, notably absent from a major new documentary reuniting the iconic Irish boyband.

The Documentary Reunion He Declined

The new Sky series, Boyzone: No Matter What, which premiered on February 2nd, delves into the group's storied history. While bandmates Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, and Shane Lynch gathered together for the project, Mikey Graham was conspicuously absent from the group scenes.

Instead of joining the collective, Graham opted to visit a separate pub alone for his filming segments. He also provided individual talking-head interviews but pointedly avoided a red-carpet event promoting the documentary. The singer has reportedly not spoken to his former bandmates for several years, a separation that began after their final performance on the 'Thank You and Goodnight' tour.

Mikey Graham: From Carpenter to Pop Star

Born on August 15th, 1972, in Raheny, Dublin, Mikey Graham was 52 years old in 2024. His journey to fame began not on a stage, but in a workshop. While working as a carpenter in Dublin and performing in local pub bands, he answered a 1993 newspaper advert placed by manager Louis Walsh.

The auditions, held at Dublin's Ormond Centre, were chaotic, but Graham's strong vocals secured his place. He joined Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy, and Shane Lynch to form the classic Boyzone lineup. Notably, Graham kept his carpentry job for months after the group formed, a cautious move before the whirlwind of pop stardom took hold.

Family Life and Looking to the Future

Mikey's personal life has been shaped by family. He became a father at 16 years old when his daughter, Hannah, was born in 1988. Later, he met Karen Corradi, marrying her in August 2004. The couple welcomed their daughter, Sienna Nicole, in 2006. In 2022, Mikey became a grandfather at age 49 when Hannah gave birth to his grandchild, Bonnie.

In the documentary, Graham, once known as 'The Quiet One', explained his decision to step away from the band's legacy. He stated he has no desire to reunite with his former bandmates, expressing a firm wish to not "waste my future looking back at my past."

He reflected, "I haven't seen anybody since that night [the last show]. I wish them the absolute best... I hold no grudges, no animosity, nothing. However, I don't want to go back to how I felt for many years." Graham emphasised that his future is "way too important" to spend it dwelling on the past.
