Sleeping Beauty Panto at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre

The festive season in the West Midlands is sparkling with theatrical magic as the acclaimed Sleeping Beauty pantomime continues its triumphant run at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. Families are being urged to secure their tickets quickly, as the final curtain will fall on this spectacular show on January 4.

A Star-Studded Cast Brings the Fairy Tale to Life

This year's production boasts a formidable and talented cast that blends local stars with national television favourites. Taking on the role of the villainous Carabosse is none other than Danny Beard, a household name from the hit series Ru Paul's Drag Race UK. Opposite the darkness, the regal Queen Bertha of Bilstonia is portrayed with poise and grace by the renowned Debra Stephenson.

The heart of the traditional panto humour comes from the fabulous dame, Dame Mary Fortune, played by co-writer Ian Adams. His on-stage son, Mickey Fortune, is brought to life by fellow co-writer Tam Ryan. The titular Princess Beauty is performed by Georgia Iudica-Davies, who awaits her prince charming.

Adding a wonderful local connection, Prince Stephen is currently played by Solomon Davy, a young actor born and bred in Wolverhampton. The cast is further bolstered by Zak Douglas, the theatre's own duty manager, who plays the herald Gerald.

A Night of Unforgettable Family Entertainment

Audiences can expect a night filled with laughter, music, and classic pantomime fun. Beyond the principal cast, a vibrant ensemble of dancers and performers delivers show-stopping musical numbers that keep both children and adults enthralled from start to finish. The production is a perfect festive treat, offering the traditional blend of slapstick comedy, audience participation, and heart-warming storytelling that defines British panto.

Don't Miss the Final Performances

With the show concluding on January 4, 2025, there are now just a limited number of performances remaining. The production has been receiving glowing responses from families across the region, making it one of the must-see theatrical events in the West Midlands this holiday season. Time is running out to experience the chuckles, gasps, and sheer joy of this magical adaptation of a beloved fairy tale at the historic Wolverhampton Grand.
