Staff and residents at Bluebell Park Care Home in Chellaston are opening their doors to host a charity coffee morning on Friday, July 31, to raise vital funds for Harley's Hounds Animal Rescue. The Derbyshire charity takes in unwanted and mistreated animals, provides medical treatment, and finds them loving homes.
Personal Connection to the Cause
The rescue charity holds a special place in the heart of the care home's activity assistant, Claire. She adopted her rescue kitten, Boo, from the organisation, and the pair are now inseparable. Claire's story inspired the care home to support the charity's foster-based work, which relies entirely on volunteers and donations.
Remarkable Impact
Since its launch, Harley's Hounds has taken in and cared for more than 1,000 animals. The dedicated team works tirelessly to rehabilitate and rehome animals in need.
Event Details
Visitors are invited to bring donations of pet food, cat litter, toys, bedding, or money to help the cause. Representatives from the rescue charity will also give a talk about their vital work. The event takes place at Bluebell Park Care Home in Chellaston, Derby, with free entry and donations welcome.
Community Support
General manager Rachel Higgott said: “We have heard all about Harley’s Hounds and their amazing work from Claire, we all know how much she adores her kitten, Boo, and she is so grateful for the care and attention she received thanks to Harley’s Hounds.” She added: “We decided it would be wonderful to do our bit to support them so we’re inviting our friends and neighbours to come along, have a coffee and some home-made cakes and pastries, find out more and help some more animals in need.”
