OVO Brings Back Two-Hour Free Electricity Offer for Smart Meter Customers
OVO Brings Back Two-Hour Free Electricity Offer

OVO Energy is reintroducing a two-hour free electricity offer for its customers, citing popular demand. The promotion is exclusive to OVO Beyond customers and runs from now until Sunday, 2 August. Eligible households can claim two hours of free electricity every week through the OVO app.

How the Offer Works

Customers with a smart meter who pay via Direct Debit can opt in weekly via the OVO app. They can choose from a selection of available time slots to find the window that best suits their household. Whether it is used to host family and friends, keep fans running during a heatwave, or clean the house during a Sunday reset, the offer provides relief on energy bills this summer.

Previous Success

Last year, OVO gave out 1.5 million hours of free electricity. Since the launch of the OVO loyalty programme, members have banked a total of 132,000 free solar panels, 33 million EV miles, 16 years worth of heating with a heat pump, and 1.5 million hours of free electricity.

George Penman, Director of Propositions at OVO, said: “Beyond was built with a simple goal: to reward our customers for being part of the energy transition. This year, we are doubling down on that commitment and are delighted to reintroduce two free hours of electricity ahead of an incredible summer of sport and music. No matter what customers use their free electricity for, we are making it easier and more rewarding for customers to enjoy the things they love, at a time when energy costs remain a priority for households.”

OVO Beyond is available to OVO customers with a smart meter who pay via Direct Debit. The offer is valid until 2 August 2026.
