A woman has been left 'shaken' after she was criticised for fainting at an airport. The incident occurred while she was travelling with her family, and her mother sustained a leg injury.
Details of the incident
Sharing her experience on Mumsnet, the original poster explained that she was travelling with her mother (DM), father (DF), and godmother (GodM) when her mother cut her leg badly on either a luggage trolley or the barriers around the trolley park. Blood was everywhere. The woman, who has a phobia of blood, blacked out almost immediately.
A couple of passengers ran into the terminal to get help, while her father and godmother fetched tissues from their hand luggage. During this time, another woman approached and called the original poster a 'disgrace'.
Aftermath and reactions
The mother received first aid and was taken around the airport with assistance. The woman recovered from her faint. Later, in the toilets, the same woman confronted her again, saying she didn't care about the blood phobia. The original poster said she was still shaking from the woman's attitude.
Other Mumsnet users responded with support. One wrote: 'Gosh what a horrible experience all round! I hope your mum is ok. You don't owe that horrible woman an explanation.' Another added: 'People who vocalise a judgement based on fuck all knowledge really are the scourge of the modern world.' A third commented: 'A stranger said that to you?? Then they are the disgrace.'
The woman noted she may not see the critic again, but the encounter left her deeply shaken.
