Resorts World Birmingham has made a significant £2,000 donation to The Lily Mae Foundation, a Coventry-based charity founded by Ryan and Amy Jackson after the loss of their daughter Lily Mae. The couple, who were recently awarded the British Empire Medal, established the foundation to ensure no parent in the West Midlands faces the devastating journey of stillbirth, neonatal death, or miscarriage alone.
Turning Personal Tragedy into a Regional Lifeline
What began as a personal mission in Coventry has grown into a vital support network for families across the region. The donation from Resorts World Birmingham will directly fund the foundation's frontline services, including their renowned "Memory Boxes" provided to hospitals and one-to-one counselling for bereaved parents, siblings, and grandparents.
Amy Jackson expressed gratitude, stating, "This incredibly generous donation means we can continue to be a lifeline for more families across the West Midlands when they need us most. Every penny goes directly toward helping parents navigate loss."
A Personal Connection to the Cause
The donation holds deep personal significance for Resorts World Birmingham. One team member, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared that the charity provided crucial support after her baby boy passed away at seven days old in Birmingham Children's Hospital. She said, "Lily Mae were in touch straight away and have been an amazing support ever since. A charity no families want to be part of, but one we couldn't have done without."
