Stockport NHS Charity has expressed profound gratitude to the Royal Nawaab Pyramid restaurant following a substantial donation aimed at their neonatal incubator appeal. Restaurant proprietor Mahboob Hussain formally presented a cheque for £28,000 to Helen Large, the neonatal matron leading the team at Stepping Hill Hospital.
Spectacular Fundraising Event
The significant funds were generated through an extraordinary fundraising gala held at the restaurant towards the end of the previous year. The evening was a grand affair, featuring exquisite cuisine and remarkable entertainment. Attendees enjoyed aerial performers, live music sets from DJs, alongside a raffle and auction with exceptional prizes.
Life-Saving Equipment for Newborns
This generous contribution is designated for the acquisition of a new, advanced incubator that will provide an optimal environment for newborn infants requiring additional medical support. The Drager Babyleo TN500 incubator, also referred to as a resuscitaire, represents cutting-edge technology designed to improve care for premature and unwell babies.
This model offers several distinct advantages over standard incubators. Its compact size allows it to function as a travel incubator, facilitating easier transportation to specialized units when necessary, while also providing better access for both parents and the midwifery team. Additional benefits include reduced noise levels to minimize disturbance and enhanced support for kangaroo care, promoting skin-to-skin contact that improves the overall experience for infants and their families.
Charity's Heartfelt Appreciation
Kate Leadbeater, the charity manager, shared her sentiments: "The support from Mr. Mahboob Hussain and his team at Royal Nawaab Pyramid has been an extraordinary gift in numerous respects. We feel immensely blessed and are profoundly grateful. The event at their magnificent venue was spectacular and served as a wonderful means to unite our community, raising vital funds for this life-saving equipment that assists babies with breathing and maintaining body warmth."
Stockport NHS Charity operates to support Stepping Hill Hospital and local NHS community services, striving to deliver care that surpasses standard provisions. The neonatal incubator appeal stands as their latest prominent initiative for this vital cause.
Ongoing Fundraising Efforts
With over £29,780 already secured towards the £47,500 target, the charity has successfully raised more than half the required amount. They are now actively encouraging additional fundraisers to help achieve the full goal. The charity is appealing for volunteers to organize their own fundraising events of any kind to support this crucial mission.
