£12,000 e-bike stolen in Stourbridge smash-and-grab

Police have released dramatic CCTV footage and are appealing for witnesses after a high-value electric bicycle was stolen in a brazen garden shed raid.

CCTV Captures Brazen Afternoon Raid

The incident occurred at a property near Pedmore Lane in Wollescote, Stourbridge. At around 5pm on Tuesday, 8 December, three individuals targeted a shed in the home's garden. The clear footage shows the group attempting to force the shed door open, using a jemmy to prise it before pulling it violently to break the lock.

Once inside, the thieves made straight for a premium £12,000 S-Works electric bike. The CCTV captures one of the masked intruders locating the valuable bicycle immediately upon entry.

Daring Escape Over Garden Fences

After securing the bike, the trio made their escape by clambering over the property's garden fences. In one notable moment caught on camera, one of the thieves is seen throwing the expensive e-bike over a fence to an accomplice before fleeing the scene.

West Midlands Police have now launched a public appeal to trace both the thieves and the stolen property. A force spokesperson said: “We’re working hard to find the bike and identify those responsible, and we’re asking for your help.”

Police Appeal for Information

Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward. The public can contact police directly by calling 101 and quoting crime reference number 20/469589/25.

For those wishing to provide information anonymously, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be reached on 0800 555 111. The police have emphasised that callers to this line can stay completely anonymous and may even be eligible for a reward.

This theft highlights the ongoing issue of high-value bicycle thefts, particularly of sought-after electric models, and serves as a reminder to owners to ensure their property is securely stored, even within outbuildings like sheds and garages.
