Birmingham's beloved Frankfurt Christmas Market is now in its final week, with the festive spectacle set to pack up and leave the city centre for another year on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025.
A Festive Countdown Begins
Since its traditional opening on November 1, the market has once again been a major draw for locals and visitors, despite the early start dividing opinion. The weeks have flown by, and now only seven days remain to soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the rides, and sample the seasonal treats.
Journalist Hannah Ahmed reported on the bustling scenes, noting that crowds have been undeterred by the winter weather, flocking to the city for their Christmas shopping at both the market and the nearby Bullring shopping centre.
What's Still on Offer in the Final Days
For those planning a last-minute trip, the market's full offering remains in place. By the Library and the ICC, a host of thrilling rides and tempting food stalls continue to operate. Over in Victoria Square, visitors will find a wide array of dining and drinking options to warm up.
A stroll further down New Street reveals the classic Christmas trinket stalls, selling everything from cosy mittens and winter hats to unique jewellery and festive decorations. The city itself is fully adorned for the season, with a large welcoming sign marking the entrance to the market area.
Expect Bustling Crowds as Christmas Nears
The city centre is experiencing its predictably busy festive period, and with Christmas Day fast approaching, the coming week is expected to be even more hectic. It remains the perfect time, however, for a final festive outing.
The market's classic features are all present, including the beautiful light displays, a traditional carousel, and a range of food vendors serving everything from German Bratwurst to sweet crepes. The iconic Christmas tree on New Street and the nativity scene also provide popular photo opportunities.
