Princess of Wales Embraced by Family at Snowdon After Three Peaks Challenge
Kate Middleton's Family Embrace at Snowdon After Challenge

Newly released pictures show the Princess of Wales being embraced by her nearest and dearest at the base of Snowdon after completing her Three Peaks Challenge. In an impressive feat of endurance, Kate took on the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge last weekend to raise money for a cancer charity and "explore life beyond diagnosis."

Royal First Achievement

The future queen conquered the highest summits in Scotland, England and Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – within 24 hours, departing on Saturday evening. Kensington Palace confirmed it believed the feat represented a royal first, with the princess becoming the inaugural member of the royal family to complete the Three Peaks challenge.

The pictures, now published on their social media channels, show Kate being welcomed by the Prince of Wales and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, alongside her parents Carole and Michael Middleton and brother James Middleton.

Heartwarming Family Moments

The images capture her hugging her husband in one shot, while another shows her arms wrapped around Charlotte. Further pictures depict her with her arm around George, holding hands with Louis, and chatting with her family. The final photograph features Kate together with her family, including her parents, brother, and his dog.

The caption accompanying the post reads: "This time last week, completing the National Three Peaks Challenge. A huge thank you to everybody who has supported The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity."

Support Along the Way

Kate completed the Three Peaks challenge solo, with Mountain Rescue on hand to provide assistance throughout the route. The princess subsequently made a donation to an 11-year-old wheelchair user she encountered during the challenge. While ascending Ben Nevis, she met Ted, who was tackling the very same challenge alongside his family and friends.

They were raising funds for Molly Olly's Wishes, a charity dedicated to supporting children with serious illnesses. On Monday, Kate donated to Ted's fundraiser on JustGiving, leaving a message which read: "One of the real highlights of the Three Peaks Challenge was meeting inspiring people like you along the way. Huge congratulations to Ted, Pete and the entire team for raising money for such a wonderful cause."

Inspiring Young Fundraiser

The JustGiving page, set up by Ted's father, Pete Haslam, has so far raised in excess of £11,000. The description states: "Ted is a wheelchair user - but that's never been the thing that defines him. Determination does. This isn't his first mountain. He has already taken on Snowdon not once, but twice, proving his resilience and spirit. Last year, he stood proudly at the summit of Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK. Each climb has been a step – quite literally – toward something bigger than himself."
