103-Year-Old's Longevity Secret: Tea and Contentment

Betty Wright, a 103-year-old resident at Cayton View care home in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, has celebrated her milestone birthday by revealing her unique secret for leading a long and happy life: contentment and a cup of tea.

A Celebration to Remember

The special centenarian marked the occasion with a family party surrounded by colourful banners, bright flowers, and a beautiful cake. Betty grew up in Cleethorpes, where she spent her younger years working as a highly skilled wedding cake decorator. The grandmother later moved into Cayton View, where she is now a regular performer in the local church choir.

A Lifetime of Love

Betty met her late husband Stan when she was just 16, and the happy couple enjoyed 70 years of marriage together before he passed away. When asked about her ultimate recipe for longevity, she joked that the secret was simply contentment and a cup of tea.
